Skirting Norms

one needs to really step outside their comfort zone to experiment and well enjoy the fruits of what's coming their way! I'm more of a dress person than another attire really. There's  almost everything have tried except playsuits. Skirt were a big part of my earlier wardrobe but for some reason I had stopped wearing them. Well the whole conversation of Indian mums asking you to wear spanx or shorts underneath(I'm sure most of you can relate) just irks me. I really don't want 100 things on the floor when I have to pee outside! well I'm trying to track my way back to skirts..starting of with this full length skirt from Femella.
Tulle skirts always are a head turning piece  ,needless to say if you have bought one well  go bold and have fun with your styling!  I went for a girly glam look with a the cutest cold shoulder blouse from Marks & Spencer .This look is ready for a shopping date and happy hour with my bouys!”
Find the skirt volume that you are comfortable with.   Tulle skirts come in different volumes.  Some plus size women aren't comfortable with pieces that are going to add volume to their bodies. If you are worried about this then you want to look for a skirt that has only a few layers of tulle.  The Rose pink tulle skirt has a minimum amount of volume.  Now for those of us that love the theatrics of it all and don't mind adding volume, a more voluminous skirt would probably suit us best.  This skirt from Femella has  the right kind of volume when you want to wear it on an everyday basis.

Work-It

It has been established that we have a problem, not only in our own country but it is really a global problem. The belief that because you're a unequivocal size or certain image, one's not  worthy of any kind of fashion. You couldn't possibly look "seasoned" in more up to date pieces. I know plenty of petite girls who struggle to find clothing that not only fit them, but that looks good.

With summer just around the corner, we’re all currently on the lookout for the perfect component that ticks both the boxes of beach and office wear. This is when we usually turn to the shirt dress. With a perfect balance between smart and casual, it’s a must-have for any girl this summer-I know now you may ask the dilemma of online shopping. Darling over the years I've understood what gems one can find while thrift shopping and online finds. These are really my go-to places to shop. So while I have the disadvantage of not having options to shop last minute I have to plan everything before. Being organized and planning definitely has a lot more perks than you can imagine. Scout for thrift finds on the most unusual picks (friends of your closet).
Coming to work wear, I have the advantage to be in a profession where I could possibly wear anything till it abides the decorum. But when it comes to other ladies -most of us winning at corporate lives, we want our options to be open. Online shopping is a boon when one knows their sizes perfectly and with the advent of new websites dedicated to plus size wear, it's a winning streak. Calae has the perfect options available in various blends of work and leisure wear. The dress I'm wearing in this post is perfect for Friday Dressing.

The shirtdress is a great addition to your wardrobe with collars and seams that can fold to your comfort. The hemline hits right at my knee which makes it a comfort worthy to wear anywhere really. I paired mine with metallic oxfords from Wanderlust and acrylic studs from Eristona.

You can pair with a blazer and comfortable shoes in the morning and pack some heels with you for cocktails in the evening. So gone are the days of bringing another set of change with you to the work, and find your favorite staple at Calae instead!

My hair was done up by my bestie Sanky ( you can catch all the BTS on my Instastory) and makeup was a very refreshing summer colours by Chetan Karkhanis. Sans any liner and tons of lashes makes it so much more doable. I wore a creamy lipstick after ages thanks to Chetan. How do you like my look and what would you wear the shirtdress with?
Hugs my darlings

MAXI-mise

Hello my water chestnuts.

I have always levitated towards maxi -they are that on a piece of clothing Iw ill never get enough of. I love the fact that you can slip them and feel absolutely covered in terms of items in my wardrobe that are actually ready to wear. Yes we all style them in 100 more ways possible adding a belt remains a fav. to cinch in the waist then there's layering which can work for all season or just as a coverup for the beach. Today I play up with Calae's maxi dress and oh boy the halter neckline makes it perfect for the holiday I've been crooning about. I hope at least you snag this piece and wear it for your holidays. The piece doesn't need any belt and perfectly defines the waist, which I absolutely love. The straight fit of the maxi makes it extremely manageable. It's a 100 % polyester which makes it absolutely fuss free for this upcoming humid season. I love how Calae is considering the fact that curvy woman wants to feel sexy as well and are making clothes to adhere the idea. There's so much room for food too, haha! No wonder Maxis are my favorite pieces to stick to.

I paired mine with mustard block heels and danglers to complete my outfit and spent a whole day whirlwind at the sea face. Do you want to know the best part about this dress? It's on sale as we speak! You have to grab it, ladies

I absolutely flaunted my visible paunch which I'm sure you are used to by now. Let me know if you are styling the dress any different, I'd genuinely love to see your styles statement.
See you soon lovelies

"The Girl guide to Tech" #The AntiOrdinary

Today I have my first tech-based product review under this new subcategory I like to call the "The Girl guide to Tech". Not tech really but that is the closest I get to being a gadget geek-I'm  talking about the amazing collection of phone cases by DESIRE DESIRE.

You can read their unique brand story on their website here.

For me when I shop online it comes down to the website experience. I want to have a very thorough and easy navigation between the subcategories and wouldn't really like to have really big pictures screaming at my face. The website boasts of some really quirky and utility worthy products that will find a space in your everyday life. This is definitely a place that enhances the user's sensibility when it comes to their product lines. You are left to think, contemplate and then decide to go for the purchase. I was pretty mind boggled with their curation and am eyeing the lenses for my phone next. The general assurance of 7 days no question asked return policy makes it the winner for me. Even though the website does not an onsite demo, the customer care  is very responsive on the social media platforms as well as the number dedicated to customer service.

I picked out one of their most coveted piece from the Quirky category which was in the style of 60s culture icon! Knowing me from even my virtual world you would know how my personal style is a reminiscence of the old world charm. And what better way to channel it every day than a phone case really. March 1950. Volkswagen expanded its offerings to include a minibus. Type 2 became a favorite mode of transportation in the 1960s and an icon of American counterculture.
Kombi, Transporter, Bulli, Camper, Splittie… the bus earned cute monikers over the years. It transported campers, concert goers, served as a rolling home for rock groups, anti-war rallyists and peace symbol activists. To a young hippie, it was everything: a canvas to apply psychedelic paint on, a place to sleep, room to swing a guitar and seating for a small commune. Perhaps nothing has driven itself deeper into pop culture than the VW Camper. Till date, it remains a beloved of the hippies.
The cover is a really snug fit which gives accessibility to all my buttons, I use an iPhone 6s plus which makes it really hard to hold on to so I prefer to have really matte finish covers along with pop-sockets to get a firm grip. The cover does a good job of protecting as well as looking good on the phone. It comes with a micron transmat thermal technology that gives the unmatched printed quality guaranteed to last you a lifetime.

The entire range is so life like and beautiful where everyone can find something or the other to their liking. Be it the timeless classic in the form of painting or a retro payphone to a mixtape that one would like to carry around. This definitely performs much more than the promised utility.

Here are the links to all the different category of cases you had to want to explore this season. Also, can I tell you how impressive are the price point ? It cost me 560 INR for the case and honestly, I'm more than happy to spend my moolah on a sturdy piece like this one. So check out the entire range and show off your latest purchases on IG, can't wait to see what you guys pick out!

Wood & Leather -https://desiredesire.com/phone-and-tablet-cases/wood-leather
No two pieces of wood are the same, meaning that no two cases are the same. It truly is a one-of-a-kind case. Wood phone cases can be very lightweight depending on the wood veneer thickness that is used. All phone cases are designed to be minimalist in design, yet offer the protection you need, and the uniqueness that is desired.

Quirky - https://desiredesire.com/phone-and-tablet-cases/quirky-designs
This is obviously my favourite category from the entire lot. From the NETFLIX VHS to The Coffin Phone, there is an endless array of variety to choose from.

Get Romantic- https://desiredesire.com/phone-and-tablet-cases/get-romantic
Love, renders us inadequate. How do we put into words the warmth that threatens to force it’s way out? Why do we end up sounding like pastiche poets who have forgotten their grammar? But worry not, friends. Better people than us have articulated it. And articulated it in ways and words that seem just like what we had in mind.
We have here a little art and a little literature for your beloved’s phone. In art, we have some of the great masters and their interpretations in love. And in literature, we have some pure awesomeness from the Sufi masters. (These Sufis know how this works, trust us.)

The Art Collection- https://desiredesire.com/phone-and-tablet-cases/the-art-collection

This comprises of the tasteful artwork over centuries translated onto matte finish cases for your phones and tabs. It includes the various styles like Umbrellas in art, Cats. And their artists, Rossetti's women, The divine Sarah

Waisted

The 80's favorite trend from the wall street is having a moment again in 2017.The done and dusted trend is back for the season and I'm talking about pinstripes here. Combining it with a very unlikely trend (for me ) of high waisted relaxed fits pants can be quite a task when styling for my body type.

High waisted are absolutely no biggie for me considering the fact that I had to wear it almost all my adolescence to bunch up the belly fat since that is the only fit I managed to snag off any branded stores that I would want bad! There was also bootcut, which well I do love but when imposed and restricted to a particular way I can't seem but to refuse to understand the routine works.

The thin pinstripes, an all-new addition by Lastinch, beautifully bunch up at the waist. There’s nothing more dated about the way you’ll be pulling on pinstripe prints this season. I like taking it in a less-is-more mentality on this blogpost pairing the pattern with a nexus t-shirt from the casuals section of plus size wear from Lifestyle while adding my baby houndstooth t-straps heels 👠

I also added a double layered choker my Toniq that completed my hippie vibes. My hair is in a pigtail and this is my comfy outfit except I would swap my shoes for closed toe block heels that will help me last throughout the day.
How do you like the pants and let me know how would you style them?

Bare Minimum

Keeping my skin bare for an outfit post -well at least one that's well planned doesn't really come naturally to me. When I take a look at an ensemble or a single piece I think about the very first look I had to want to put together with that piece. Everything from the color of my eyeshadow to the heels and the nail paint is automatically fed fast by my brain and securely recorded/The hairstyle being most unpredictable one and mostly dependent on Sanky's mood really! The second thought is how many times can I repeat this piece (honestly even if I get two wears out of it Iw ould buy it)Considering the limited choice it very hard to come across something that I had really want to wear more than twice.
For this blogpost It really got me thinking what if I don't really paint my face for once and look at what reactions I would get. By the end of the shoot and post editing it al boiled down to more pondering as to how vulnerable I actually felt. Mid shoot I had started to apply a lip tint all over my eye and lips-yes LIP TINT! I wasn't too happy with the fringes  Sanky curled for my bangs this time and that could be seen! It isn't really until you get to the most uncomfortable zone, you don't understand the importance of your own being. I really want to be able to go bare face and not feel conscious about it.Is till do-it's a process I know I'm working on it and will get there in time. As for my makeup lovers out there, I'm really going to stop wearing makeup! It's not a need for me but a creative outlet -that's initially the first things I did to make myself feel more ME. I would ponder 100 times before posting the pictures, eventually when I got the love from you guys only then I had the confidence to really do my first outfit post. I know the whole process is long and vicious of self-love when there's a whole army sitting at your doorstep, asking you to stop being yourself.

For my post, I chose to wear this beautiful number speaking vintage flora-fauna power to me. I was extremely excited about the new heels I bought to well wear with everything. The block heels make it so comfortable for me to walk in. Usually, after the shoot day I'm really happy to do away with the heels well that's not the case with this one. I wore this even to the sandy beach for our next location!
The floral number is a perfect button down dress when you had like t be really effortless minus the effort really. Think about pairing this with headscarves and bandanas for that summer brunch look or wear it over culottes to open the first few button with pointy heels for Friday casual to work. The viscose fabric makes it a delight for summer and monsoons-easy for our working ladies alike!

Head to Calae's website to check out their new summer fling collection.
I had love to hear from you guys and I always make sure I reply to your emails and messages, I really hope you keep writing to me with all your love feedback, suggestions-I want to hear them all. See you very soon with another exciting brand on the blog next week.
Till then,

Xoxo
