Arabesque grey blue smokey Eyes!

Hellow my beautiful ladies,

Here's a very picture heavy post ,doing a very Arab-esque smokey eyes today.

I'm using two unusual colours grey and blue combination.

 Instead of using my usual mettali-glow primer I'm using Nyx Jumbo Pencil in milk as a base for the colours to show up better.

It need not be very even.So get messy and smudge!

Add a wash white eyeshadow(matte/metallic)whatever you prefer. 

Next adding  a nude shade that is lighter than your skintone under your browbone.

Next start adding a grey eyeshadow in the middle gently blending it outward and building up the shade.Lighter colours take time to show up.

Next add Blue to your outer corners and limiting it there.You'll have some major fallouts here.

Keep blending the shade merging them slowly till you achieve the result you want.

Once you are satisfied with the way your shadows look cleanup the excess ,giving the corners a  sharper edge.

This is what it should look like at this point sans the eyeliner and kohl.

Carefully add a white liner on your waterline .

  Draw an extended winged liner.drawing two flicks towards the outer corner and joining them.

Next extend the liner to your lashline. I prefer doing with the same liquid liner,you can use a pencil liner too.

Here I have joined the liner at inner corner,another option would be to leave the liner open-edged like this.

Next I cut up a pair of fake lashes in half and with the help of lash  glue add to the outer corner to give that extended  feline look.

Oh lashes do make a difference if your are wondering.

Notice how heavy my lashes look.The correct lashes can make all the difference 

 Your eyes are done!Pair them up with cotton candy.Take your Pick!

Graphic Liner Series :Part 2

So how are my sexy dolls combating with Monday Blues!

So here's a quickie on another graphic liner look.Today I'm going to an easy - peasy way to the feline liner.Oh yea I'm totally into Feline(meow)after the winged liner.Not only this look makes your eyes look bigger (unless you are using kohl on waterline which fyi will make your eyes smaller).

One thing that really attracts me is Those intensely wild feline eyes are irresistibly captivating  but all you need is a bit of steady hand. 

The first step to getting a perfect cat eye is to arm yourself with the right tools.So start by using pencil kohl liner first slowly transition into felt tip liners and finally gel or liquid liner whichever you prefer better!

Next, park yourself in front of a mirror, preferably one with a table or flat surface in front of it.

 Plant on  the eyeshadow  you like I prefer to Find a shade of eyeshadow that is very slightly lighter than my own  eyelid skin tone. Apply it all over the eyelid using a large eyeshadow brush.

Apply a highlight color. Begin directly below your inner brow sweep outwards, following the natural arch of the brow.

Apply a darker brown into the outer crease of your eyelid. This should go all the way to the outermost portion of the crease.
Now  the idea is to define your crease so blend in baby as much as you can.
 
Plant the elbow of the arm holding the brush onto the table (to steady your hand).
Begin slightly slanting upwards when you get to the middle of your eye. Extend just past the corner of your eye. Once you have created the outline, fill it in.Use the lower lashline as the guideline for your feline liner.

Once you are done in the outer corner you need to perk up the inner corner by tweaking and defining the area.(refer the picture below). It's kinda like you are joining the tips and finishing you eyeliner in the front area.

 


Voila there you go!
Cat eye liner can be challenging at first, but once perfected it is a look that always wins big. Adorn your eyes in the feline persuasion, today.  

 Product Used:

• Clinique Pallette(got this in the velvette box)

• Maybelline Gel liner

• And lakme liquid liner

 Other than this for my face I used Garnier BB tinted moisturizer along with Purely Pro Blush in  Strawberry and Maybelline Lipstick in 'Hooked on Pink'.

A l'il lovenote:

• Be patient and do this slowly, it takes time and practice.
• Never add liquid liner to waterline!!! All other liners are fine but liquid liner is a no no, causes serious eye irritation if it gets in the eye. Also there are glands for your eyes in the waterline could cause pink eye or a stye.You can use it on the lashline if you are very confident and have a steady hand.
• You can use any color you'd like, but black is the classic look.
• Don't add to much more makeup cause it will make this look trampy/overdone.
• Remember to add a THIN line on the waterline of your bottom lash.
• Add a dark blush under the cheekbone, it will highlight the cat eye effect. 

 

The tale of the "Almost Bald Head"

We (Masters in Design,NIFT)are currently interning,well I'm still looking but nevertheless I had like to share some of my styling photo-shoots with you.These were randomly done in the middle of the night when I would pursue one or the other friend to pose for me.
Oh well and what I'm going to present to you today we literally managed to shave her head too.Oh yes let's just say I can be very convincing sometimes :D
Here I have experimented with a beautiful triad of colors on the eye sans any liner.Let the picture take you you on this short transformation ride!

       

 Jocelyn  hee highness nervous self before the haircut! We randomly decided to  shave on sides. She has like real thick hair voluminous (that I've always dreamt of).She gives you the freedom to work around her,and I don not have to haste and hence she's always one of my favorite person to work with.

We can style it so many ways.Add a large bow hairband that doesn't draw attention to itself keeping it monochromatic and Voila you are set to go.

The second look :Here we found a beautiful way to wear that cuff earring. A top knot pony tail that doesn't shy away from showing that trimmed edges and is such a grungy look put -together.

Graphic Liner Series :Part 1

Good morning my dolls .

Let's start the weekend with a bang. I have been wanting  to do a series on Graphic liners.Now the thing with graphic liner  is "Graphic liner is not for the faint of heart". Not only is it attention grabbing, but it has a higher difficulty level than your average eye makeup. If you're up for the challenge, and don't mind attracting a bit of attention give it a try .Statement makeup isn't for everyone but the great thing about graphic eyeliner is that you can take it as far as you want. 

Today I'm going to start with a very wearable graphic eyes and easy steps to achieve it.The two main roadblocks when applying graphic eyeliner I encountered was symmetry and smudging. If symmetry is a problem for you take a tiny brush and lightly sketch out the shape before you go in for a stronger line.

Step1:I start by using primer (Faces MetalliGlow).

Step2 :Sweep any Yellow eyeshadow(Used Nyx Yellow Funk here) all over the lids not taking it too high.

Step 3:Over the shadow apply a cream based orange/gold/copper eyeshadow.(I've used Maybelline Tattoo Eyeshadow in the shade Fierce and tangy).

Step 4:Apply a neutral shadow over upto your browbone.(I used MAC's ricepaper here) .

 Step 5:Using a round top brush and brown shadow of your choice smudge and blend through both the shade.We  do not want a distinct line here hence blending is the key.(Instead of a brown eyeshadow I used a Giorgiano's Bronzing Pearls).

 

Step 6:Add a white pencil to your waterline only.The white kohl helps in creating an illusion of bigger eyes.You can skip this step too if you had like.(I'm using Nyx 's Jumbo pencil in Milk)

 Step 7:Now starts the interesting part.Line your eyes as usual,I start from middle without closing my eyes and go over  the natural shape of my eyes.

Step 8:Extend the liquid liner outwards in a winged shape towards your brows.The good thing is it depends totally upon you ,how far you want to take it.Tone it down with  a Q-tip if you want to.

 Step9:Add atleast 2 coats of mascara and voila you are done!

For the lips :I used Faces lipstick (in the shade 411 Poppy Red)and defined the corners of my lips with Faces Kajal to get that defined edge and make my lipstick a wee-bit darker. 

 

For the face I used generous dollop of Garnier BB cream ,Maybelline BB cream stick in Fawn and kept the blush to minimum (I'm wearing Purely Pro's blush in Pretty Pink).

If you are worried about the products not being similar  to the one's that I 'm using here please do not fret! This is just a way to showcase the technique that I'm using to achieve the look.Don't be afraid to experiment with colours and use the products that are availble around you.you might just recreate something new!

p.s.: I try and stick to drugstore makeup products so that its affordable and easily achievable.
