The tale of the "Almost Bald Head"

Good afternoon my bubble faces :*

We (Masters in Design,NIFT)are currently interning, well I'm still looking but nevertheless I had like to share some of my styling photo-shoots with you. These were randomly done in the middle of the night when I would pursue one or the other friend to pose for me.
Oh well and what I'm going to present to you today we literally managed to shave her head too.Oh yes let's just say I can be very convincing sometimes :D
Here I have experimented with a beautiful triad of colors on the eye sans any liner.Let the picture take you you on this short transformation ride!

Jocelyn  hee highness nervous self before the haircut! We randomly decided to  shave on sides. She has like real thick hair voluminous (that I've always dreamt of).She gives you the freedom to work around her,and I don not have to haste and hence she's always one of my favorite person to work with.

Finally the snips !

 Finishing touches!!

Yes I can gross you out to come on!

Products Used:
Faces Pallette

Graphic Liner Series :Part 1

Good morning my dolls .
Let's start the weekend with a bang. I have been wanting  to do a series on Graphic liners. Now the thing with graphic liner  is "Graphic liner is not for the faint of heart". Not only is it attention grabbing, but it has a higher difficulty level than your average eye makeup. If you're up for the challenge, and don't mind attracting a bit of attention give it a try .Statement makeup isn't for everyone but the great thing about graphic eyeliner is that you can take it as far as you want.

Today I'm going to start with a very wearable graphic eyes and easy steps to achieve it.The two main roadblocks when applying graphic eyeliner I encountered was symmetry and smudging. If symmetry is a problem for you take a tiny brush and lightly sketch out the shape before you go in for a stronger line.

Step1:I start by using primer (Faces MetalliGlow).

Step2 :Sweep any Yellow eyeshadow(Used Nyx Yellow Funk here) all over the lids not taking it too high.

Step 3:Over the shadow apply a cream based orange/gold/copper eyeshadow.(I've used Maybelline Tattoo Eyeshadow in the shade Fierce and tangy).

.

Step 4:Apply a neutral shadow over upto your browbone.(I used MAC's ricepaper here) .

Step 5:Using a round top brush and brown shadow of your choice smudge and blend through both the shade. We  do not want a distinct line here hence blending is the key.(Instead of a brown eyeshadow I used a Giorgiano's Bronzing Pearls).

Step 6:Add a white pencil to your waterline only. The white kohl helps in creating an illusion of bigger eyes. You can skip this step too if you had like.(I'm using Nyx 's Jumbo pencil in Milk)

Step 7:Now starts the interesting part.Line your eyes as usual,I start from middle without closing my eyes and go over  the natural shape of my eyes.

Step 8:Extend the liquid liner outwards in a winged shape towards your brows. The good thing is it depends totally upon you ,how far you want to take it.Tone it down with  a Q-tip if you want to.

Step9:Add atleast 2 coats of mascara and voila you are done!

For the lips :I used Faces lipstick (in the shade 411 Poppy Red)and defined the corners of my lips with Faces Kajal to get that defined edge and make my lipstick a wee-bit darker.

For the face I used generous dollop of Garnier BB cream ,Maybelline BB cream stick in Fawn and kept the blush to minimum (I'm wearing Purely Pro's blush in Pretty Pink).

And here's the finish look.

Here's a l'il Lovenote:
If you are worried about the products not being similar  to the one's that I 'm using here please do not fret! This is just a way to showcase the technique that I'm using to achieve the look.Don't be afraid to experiment with colours and use the products that are availble around you.you might just recreate something new!

p.s.: I try and stick to drugstore makeup products so that its affordable and easily achievable.

Hope to hear back from you,
See you soon
XOXO.

Smokey eye Tutorial for Beginners.

Hello my pretty ladies.Yes this is one of those late night posts to combat mid -week crisis.
I know we have all tried that smoky eye secretly but failed miserably at times,I have to confess that I have ended up with raccoon eyes even at parties! :/
Here's a step by step tutorial for a basic smokey eye.

How one end's up getting that  greyish look with fallouts allover  the face.

So here we will try and re-create a simple brown-black smoky eye for starters.

1.First and foremost I like to prep my eyes with a metallic primer.(This makes the shadow last way longer and also gets that canvas ready for your inner Picasso to be unleashed). The key to keeping eyeshadow from melting into your eyelid crease as the day goes on is to kept eyelids oil-free.

2. Apply a cream concealer over your eyelid to create a smooth base for your eyeshadow.I have used Maybelline Tattoo Eyeshadow in the shade here.

3.Use a pencil liner (black or gray looks best) to trace your top lashline from the inner corner to the outer. Then, use the same pencil to dot between your lower lashes.

4.Blend in the harsh liner on your lashline and wterline.Use black/brown eyeshdow to blend in.The more efforts you put in blending(light-handed)better the results..Blend in color on bottom lashes For color on the bottom (a key smokey eye look) you'll want to use a eyeliner pencil because they're easiest to smudge. Once the line is drawn, run your finger over it to smudge the line. You can also apply a bit of shadow to get full smudge effect.

5. Sweep powder shadow (brown, gray and dark green all work with black or gray liner) over your lid and into your crease, blending the color up and outward.

TIP: To prevent color from fading and give your lids a more shimmery finish, pat a cream shadow over the concealer on your lid first, wait five minutes, then top with a matching powder shadow.
Go for black, gray, brown or if you want "color," dark green shadows and liners.
6.Add a little concealer or white pencil(like Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk or Yoghurt) and blend in the browbone area with the help of your finger.

7.Dust a lighter, neutral eyeshadow closest to your skin's true complexion over just your browbone.

8.Clean  up the excess with your makeup remover.
9.Add concealer under your eye and buff with pressed powder. Finish with two coats of black mascara.

10.And here's the finished look.

I like to do my smoky eyes before putting any face products on as there will be fallout's indefinitely.Another option to prevent fallout's are to use a scotch tape or buff some loose powder under your eye and later brush it off.

Products Used:
1.Oriflame Concealer in a stick
2.Maybelline BB cream stick in the shade Fawn
3.Faces long wear Pencil in Black
4.L'oreal Mineral Kohl
5.Acme Palette(I use the shimmery brown shade)
6.Clinique Palette(I use the dark plum shade)
7.Oriflame VeryMe Big Lashes Mascara

Hope the tutorial was easy and simple to understand.I would  love to hear back from you.
Till then take care.
XOXO

Hello our lovely readers.

Yes we know we should keep up with these random posts and get back on track now,but we had some pretty good reasons for not writing I assure you.
So Like I promised and swear-ed to myself to dedicate myself to writing again(Yes you are guessing it right,It is that phase of my life where I'm feeling absolutely useless trying on being selfless!)
Getting back to the super easy d-i-y(Do-It-Yourself) on the skull cutout on tee which has been a worldwide rage.I was absolutely adamant on doing it.
Here's all the supplies you will be needing:

Supplies:
1. Fabric chalk
2. sharp fabric sheers
3. skull picture (Google it) or even better try hearts or any random shape you like!
4. slightly oversized tee. preferably cotton to hold the shapes of the skull better than something softer like an interlocking knit (jersey-knit).

STEP ONE: Sketch out the outline of your skull. We think the messier, the better, so don't be afraid to get a little sloppy.

STEP TWO: Turn your shirt inside out with the back of the shirt facing up. Then put your skull outline inside.

STEP THREE: Trace your outline with chalk  or you can even chose to do dots since scissors tend to drag on fabric and by not having a solid line we were able to deviate from the exact outline, like we said, the messier the better — and more organic looking.

STEP FOUR: Admire your dotted skull outline.

STEP FIVE: Begin cutting by starting in the middle and snipping outward.Only in a matter of minutes you have your amazing skull cutout on that not-so-boring white tee of yours!

Now when we talk about wearing it,WE have quite a few options !1.Here We tried to wear it with nothing underneath (which fyi do not pull this stunt in the city, but nevertheless it perfect for beach-sides!)It looks like we're wearing nothing underneath, but we're typically wearing one of those sticker bras just to make sure there are no wardrobe malfunctions! 2.Another easy and predictable way is to wear it with a racer back.We paired up an aztec printed racer back from "American Eagle"here.
3.Wear it over a romper /Jumpsuit.EAsy-peasy and avoid getting stared at busy market places.Let me promise you it'll be super comfy for that shopping trip paired with oversized sunnies and flat tie-ups!
4.We even like to pair it over a bralette. Probably the second  most common way to wear the shirt. Just saying "eff it" and wearing it over your normal bra or a bralette top. A contrasting colour works or wearing with a nude bra makes the cut-out stand out too.

p.s.: Another quick tip Is to use the design, forward-facing, cut out of a black t-shirt over a white t-shirt. I tried it and a lot of people thought it was some sort of screen print, until they got up close and others thought it it was abstract until they saw if from far away. All in all it's an absolute WINNER!!!

That I think officially sums up our first post and I'm so glad that you guys have reached here .Yes here! :P
Looking forward to writing soon.
xoxo

Deriving  inspiration from the  pep talk in my previous post,
I had love to share some commandments  I abide by personally:

1.   Wear Clothes that Fit:  Oh, am I stickler for breaking this rule.  When I feel fat, I wear clothes that try to hide it. I try to wear oversized shirts to cover my mid-section. By fit clothes I mean not to tight or too loose, each cloth can be customised for your body.  However, when I lost a lot of weight, I felt a lot more comfortable sporting clothes that hugged my hips a little more showed off some curves.  I loved how I felt and how I looked.

2.   Experiment: Try and experiment with different styles. You will notice how much more styles you can flaunt rather than sticking to your everyday casuals. For this you need an confidant, a near one, could be anyone from your mother to sister to your boyfriend. You need a strictly honest opinion     and if  if you are sure about rocking it, Well go ahead girl!

3. Demand Better Treatment from Healthcare Professionals :  This rule has started to bore me and puts me on an edge every time I go to the doctor. Maybe it's because I haven't been "tortured" by healthcare professionals in terms of my weight.  Have doctors expressed a concern about my weight and the complications it can lead to? Yes.  Being fat is much more than adipose tissues on that tummy, thighs and love handles.
It becomes all the more important if your  family history is  riddled with diabetes and heart disease, I totally understand when he shares his concerns The doctor’s job is to keep me well.  I don't believe for a second that I'm receiving some form of dogmatism when he mentions that losing a few pounds would take the strain off of my knees and would help prevent the diseases that run wild through my family members.

4.  Find A Way to Move:  Another great rule.  Although I just  can't it through my head around her statement that  being evident  fat oozing at its best, I agree that moving is key to a happy, healthy live - regardless of size.  I do agree that overweight people are often mocked when wanting to participate at gyms.  They often get ridiculed for not wanting to lose weight, and ridiculed when they try.  That I agree with 100%.  Although, I personally haven't ever received anything but support when I attend a gym or want to participate in an active hobby, I know it does happen.Go for walks You may just end up rebonding over it again with an old friend or just make new ones.

5.  Stand Up for Yourself: I agree that many overweight people are bullied and ridiculed because of their size.  I've lived with being taunted and laughed at because of my weight.  I don't like feeling that ridicule.  I wholeheartedly believe that people should stand up for themselves from body haters - and any other form of haters.  No one knows the many possible causes that a person can be overweight.  I'm one of those people that have struggled with being a overweight my whole life, but I also have demons that lead to the huge expansion of my waist line about 10 years ago.  Each person's reasons or demons are different, and no one should ever be ridiculed for that. I will never offer my advice without being asked...and I don't make anyone read my blog I don't believe that everyone is out to belittle overweight people when they offer words of encouragement.

6.Deal With Your Fat: OK, I'll be honest,  Hate me if you will, but I couldn't help it.  When I read about how I should take extra care of drying in between my fat rolls, and taking precautions not to get heat blisters between my thighs, I felt a little queasy.  Not because what she said was disgusting, but because I knew exactly what she was talking about it - and I hated it.  Label it however you want, but I just can't wrap my head around loving my fat rolls.  I just can't.  Believe me, I've tried.  I've often woken up thinking "so what if I'm fat", but a quick trip to the mirror brings me back to reality that I don't like my fat, never have, never will.  I want it gone.  I know that this is the whole point to her entire article, but I just can't find happiness in looking the way I do....and it's what motivates me to keep trying to get rid of it.  I don't want to have to buy a bigger chair, I don't want to take up two spaces at a movie theatre, and I don't want a seat belt extender.  Not because I think there's anything wrong with any of those things - but because none of that makes me happy.  Call me vain, brainwashed, crazy. Whatever it is your opinion about me after this statement but I can never wrap my head around the thought of just being happy being overweight.  I'm happy trying to lose the weight making the effort.  After All that shines does certainly appeal to the eye more than the rest of the world.

7.Lastly There Are Worse Things In The World Than Being Fat:  This rule is short, to the point, and absolutely true.  There are of course far worse things than being fat.  I've made that point countless times over when I put losing weight on a back burner because other priorities fall in to the mix.  Although, I can't help but bring back the point that one worse thing than being fat is being handicapped or suffering from incurable diseases.  Continuing to pack on the pounds could result in an early demise.  I don't want that to happen.  It's not the main reason I'm trying to lose weight though.  My reasons are purely vanity driven.  But, I will say that all of my reasons are purely for me.  I don't feel pressured to do it - I want to.

My Social Dilemma

Today, the research shows that the world population has now reached 7 billion people.
If we were a world of 100 people, a research conducted by www.100people.org says that
1 would be dying of starvation.
15 would be undernourished.
21 would be overweight.
I am not here to tell you about how being more charitable by donating or limiting your lifestyle intakes, I strongly believe in the philosophy ‘To each, his own!’But I am here to make a little difference to your perception about how you look at others.
Recently, I came across a rather saddening realization and  was  rather appalled  by the fact that no matter what happens, people will always look for those who are perfectly perfect to the T. And I am talking about physical appearance. I heard that once you come into the REAL world, you realize how obnoxious it is. It eats you up alive. Now, I witnessed it myself. As I walked into my class every single day people stare at me as if I was  human meteoroid, landed on Earth.
It would happen every single day till my first year ended. Many a times people would come up with songs to tease me. My teachers would pull me out saying that I wore inappropriate clothes to college whereas another petite girl could sport the very same style without being noticed. My friends did try to console me a little here and there served with added tablespoons of sarcasm. And then I just stopped caring, more like trying to ignore. Each time they another family friend or relative came home I would hear the same thing over and over again. Sorry if I'm being cocky But I Have Just started to feel that way. People didn't realize how body shy they made me by saying all the harsh, heartbreaking, insensitive things they would say. I suffer from POCD and hypothyroid, I’m absolutely expected to pile on weight. Not that I want to hide under the weight of this excuse but I have started to accept my body as it is. To some women, being a size double-zero or zero is natural, but for those that starve or abuse drugs, it's a battle to stay at a size that your body is rejecting.
I want to be healthy because I feel better when I'm healthy.  I can do more stuff, like being active.  I don't necessarily have to be thin to be healthy, I agree with that  but I know that many of my ailments would cease if I weighed less.
In the last couple of years, plus-size models have gone from being novelties in high-fashion shows and couture, to being included in mainstream campaigns and editorials in nearly every glossy. India is still far from acceptance. Even now, it’s nearly impossible to even mention the words “plus-size” without stirring up a bit of controversy; whether they come under scrutiny for being too thin, too fat, or too “normal.”
I read a lot of the comments whenever an article comes out online about plus-size fashion or models and I'm horrified by the ignorance I read. People equate bigger people with being unhealthy.
I started blogging originally to heal, I've been big my whole life and it was time that I stopped feeling bad about myself, but now it is so much more. When my mother was pregnant with me they expected twins! It is about self-acceptance and plus size fashion, and occasionally my random thoughts. If I manage to inspire one person, then I have achieved my goal for my blog.  I haven’t mustered the courage to even post each day and the post would just keep stacking on but ever since I've started blogging my love for fashion has grown at a rapid rate and so has my self confidence.
I think I might get into the fashion industry some day, make a difference and be successful.
My mission to revive everyday dressing and styling for plus size women continues hereafter and I can only ask to all my lovely readers who are reading this article, to be a little more sensitive towards us. We do not need your pity, sympathy.

We aren’t any different from you, we have just made with a pinch more of extra love.
As for fashion being relative to plus size the sky is our limit with a little bit of ‘Spanx’!
