Guest Post:La mode masculine série (Part 2)

Guest Post:La mode masculine série

On a recent episode of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, actor and singer Dhanush, sported a snazzy bandhgala waistcoat by designer Raghavendra Rathore. The bandhgala (which literally means, closed neck), was popularized in India by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and has even been sported in the 60s and 70s by The Beatles and Mick Jagger. And because it was Nehru’s uniform of choice, it was called the Nehru Jacket.
Now, Bollywood seems to have taken a shine to the bandhgala style waistcoat and jacket. And we certainly had to end the affair with the royal this week. Did you check my last post on the royal headgear?
It's like getting to be an everyday princess for pennies http://plumptopretty.blogspot.in/2013/07/the-royal-headband-d-i-y.html

Needlessly to guess today's featured choice of clothing is the Nehru jacket.

The first look Yashvardhan seen sporting here, he paired up a pastel pista colour Nehru with beige jodhpuris and the classic of white mandarin collar shirt with the Ray-ban's. Depending upon your complexion and choice of apt colour ,a simple Nehru can take you places,so a good suggestion would be to get them custom-made or tailored to your size.

Here’s another Nehru jacket in cream-yellow undertone made to perfection and styled in three different ways by Yashvardhan.
Clearly show the kind of difference sunglasses could add to the look.
The thing in men's fashion are a few key pieces that can make or break a look. You do not really have an option of decking up all Christmas tree, so really investing some basic pieces is the way to go.
Mixing and matching the same nehru jacket need not make you an repeat offender, a square chief is always handy to what scarf is to women. It really can add upto the look.

The third look is the very regal and royal version of Nehru with bold gold buttons added to the Nehru. This strictly a social circuit wear look and well don’t try it street-wise: paired up with camel-beige jodhpuris and deep hues maroon for the kerchief. A special ode to tortoise shell rimmed glasses that he’s sporting!

Keeping it real short this time, let the pictures speak. Now some random clicks and pinches of style inspiration.

See you soon in my next post, till then
XOXO
