The outfit I wear is something that I would wear to work sans the high block heels, I would swipe them for matallic loafers.The jacket is by Nubella isa limited edition baby-it has a detailed floral motif handpainted to each jacket that definitely makes it one of it's kind.

The outfit it so complete yet has this subdued elegance with a hint of sexiness. As a plus size girl cleavage is that unwarranted aunty that decide to pay you a visit of course almost leaving you red faced in public sometimes. this jacket not only comes to you rescue but also does much making a statement. I loved the sleeves and the neckline as it doesn't accentuate to give a droopy look and the sleeves being flared, are extremely c beautiful. Th e jacket is made in poplin is perfect for not only in betweens but also as a good piece of layering.

Beyond The Virtual Wall

Hello my lovely lemon tarts,

Some days are just about procrastinating to get up while some days kick starts with you being mentally upbeat about everything you have to look forward to today . I'm a firm believer of the fact that you often become the person you keep company with. Not to sound highly philosophical or preachy it has much to do with myself, I became the girl who would walk with cliques around college to someone who has boiled down to close knit of 5 to 10 people. However much we speak of the fact about how uber cool we have become we have become with communal living it gives me great joy to get back to people of m y comfort zone..often that is myself. I love being in my company and learned it in a hard way, still learning in fact. I  really have mapped out my journey who wouldn't step out to even get medicines in the direst situations to just about getting anywhere today. Of course, I'm still averse to the idea of striking conversations with someone as soon as I get to a room full of people. My eye searches for another familiar set of eyes.

My gateway has been my writing-my virtual conversation. But One thing that I'm lagging is making a connection with you in the real world. I read tons of DMs and Messages but I had like to know your input and develop a healthy conversation here-a two-way traffic.

I had really appreciated if you can comment/ask/question on my Instagram or Facebook page with #beyondthevirtual and we break the bubble. Trust me it's harder than it looks but I'd appreciate it tons if you do it!


Coming back to the post I had wanted to do something with this Bhane Dress(which personally isn't something I see myself picking up from their store).It was a completely new challenge for me to style it. So I paired I with a thrifted long line jacket which was such a steal at 150 bucks!

I paired it up with my comfy wedges from Forever 21 but I don;t find myself wearing to often. This look is a no jewellery zone and my hair takes a backseat for a while being gelled back. I also flaunt my favorite accessory Mr.Sanky who has quite often hoarded my blog space. Breaking Myths With Afamado

I personally think there has been so much rue about what a Fat girl shouldn’t wear but time and again and we a plus size community have been trying to break the shell. It’s honestly very heartbreaking to see that as a community whose very members are we, levy such rules upon what to wear and what not to wear! The dress custom made by me defies all the rules that as plus size woman I’m supposed to be following.

The dress has my favorite trend off shoulder, a cinched waist, and a slit. I don’t want to be a hero but just normal person who wants to exists and do her own thing, eat what she likes, dress up as she likes and be  in this community just as anybody else.

One of the biggest style trends to emerge from  the very beginning  of summer 2016, without a doubt,  the off shoulder trend- is also  known by the name“Bardot  .” As a curvy girl, I remember baring my shoulders felt like a throwback to another time(being a vintage pinup fam), but also felt more comfortable sporting this trend.

To me these styles are flirty and the appeal lies in the fact that we can show skin but you got your upper arms covered. And that is a complete summer win for me. For colder weather, I would wear it with a button up plain shirt with prominent collars. 

You have seen me embrace the trend quite a few number of times on the blog.

It’s not hard to wear off-the-shoulder dresses – they make a statement on their own hence they really don’t need much else.

For this blog post, I have a beautiful geometrical print dress from Afamado. The dress is an off shoulder baby in Non stretch rayon woven fabric that can be either worn cinched or loose. The elastic on the shoulder and neck line enable a better fit. The dress was customized to my size and preference and that is what I loved about Afamado that ensures that each of its garment is made to the customers sizing’s.

For me my biggest accessory thanks to Sanky has become my Hair. We made it fun with tight curls. I have paired the dress with my pastel drop earrings from ALDO and block heels from Truffle Collection.

The Sorority Lives of 60's

I enjoy being a girl! And my wish would really be to live every day of the week in a new decade. I find the old musings, music , women, hardships they faced very endearing. If I could only time travels. Dressing up and having the liberty to write your own blog gives you that freedom, to say the least. Today my love for the bygone era continues-I flirt with the 60's reimagining what a sorority would I be in or what would I dress up as. Can we style the pieces today as we could wear them in the MODs?  I often question myself-Plus size fashion has evolved in recent years, leaving many fat fashion enthusiasts grateful but how did women shimmy back in the thigh-grazing straight fit dresses or Was it just a norm just for the straight sized women?

I'm wearing my last inch high neck dress with bell sleeves paired with a pastel mauve hue of stockings and T-straps oxford heels. My hair is pulled into a carefree updo bringing attention to my eyes-Played up with shades of blue family.Wearing NYX's Matte Lipcream in Amsterdam.

Lastly, I had like to Dedicate this song to my lovely ladies reading this.

Summer Mellow

Hello my beautiful melons,

It's been a while since Is poke to you guys.Personally, for me, I haven't seen a seismic change in fashion this year. The biggest trend of cold shoulder and off-shoulder still ensues on this year.

The shoulder has been fashion’s erogenous zone of 2016 but, more importantly, it is clearly making the cut to 2017 as well.The glee of a cold-shoulder dress/top works better for any setting! It gives you more of an audacious than it feels: the shoulders don’t vellicate & the focus remains on your face rather than your body. I guess which what I really aim for not that I have shied away from dressing up my bulges ever. Cold shoulders are not only flirty and fun, but they also keep you cool on a warm summer day, which makes them a wardrobe essential.  This trend is not chasing away and honestly, works with every body type, hence I suggest you make the most of it!

Here 's an absolute fun shoot I did for LastInch's latest summer collection launch. The dress 's print is a beautiful tie and dye technique. The love for combining modern pieces with Hollywood vintage inspired hair isn't going anywhere-anytime soon. Sanky has given me a hip yet very 60smod bouffant hair.I went sans any accessories and paired it with strappy pointy flats.

Summer Reminiscing with Lastinch

Summer evokes so many sentiments for me- the fun frolic at the beaches are a distant memory now. I have been longing for a vacation for the longest time now. My more real adult reactions to summer are nowhere close to summer vacations, beaches or just playing around and getting tanned only to quench thirst & hunger from the mango tree. That is definitely my favorite memory at my grandparent's place.

Summer to me translates down to maxis-they ae the only anti-fit items that I feel I can carry like a boss. Maxis never have a mind of their own, body type it is one of those clothing items that is universally flattering. You have one for everybody type. I'm keeping the post really short boiling it down the essentials of the post. I got this rust colored halter ruched maxi from LastInch and it is such a breeze. The material is extremely soft whilst not being clingy at all.I liked it both the way when I cinch my waist to add a little more definition to the smallest part of my body( no not my arms, just don't want to refer it as waist anymore) or not!

I wore my hair in undone beach waves done by sanky. My makeup is well a very Also adding a ton of texture by adding Label M's texturizing spray and a comfy straw hat from Forever 21.

Festive Desk To Dinner with Calae

A question since time immemorial the Bodycon came into our fashion scene-"Can Plus Size Women wear Body Con dresses?"

I have always lusted over the bandage dresses that enviously, ladies wore and showed off their quite petite frame.

But for me, it has never been a question to stick to a rule/commandment when it comes to fashion. I don't try and limit myself to the do's and don'ts but bodycon can be quite unflattering and really quite a daunting task to wear when one has a paunch like me.

But if I have to answer In a single word YES, and in a few more words – if you can get comfortable with it.The dress definitely hugs you everywhere, all the bumps and curves, in all your magnificence.

So when I got the chance to choose some lovely pieces from Calae I  didn't shy away from choosing this particular dress. Not only does the dress take you from desk to dinner but is absolutely flattering. Being a design Ph.D. student that works and blogs on the side I  definitely have days around the clock. This dress is the perfect answer to my prayers- the black panels fits in the best way possible for a very Indian body type as mine and shows off the right curve. However, I do advise wearing a bodysuit like I do in almost all my short dresses.On my lips I have NYX Lip Suede cream.

I wore my dress paired with my satchel bag from Accessorize India and peep toes from Tresmode.

Now I really wanted you guys to know about Calae not 'cos they would pay me to influence you but genuinely I understand the absolute increasing need of good outfits that we would not think about before going out! I know you ladies and I feel you so much when we have to go through the glares and stares as if not finding our sizes wasn't a punishment in itself really. Here's comes CALAE, an establishing pilgrim to the bold, curvy and style-oriented women. They call themselves a one-stop shop for every kind of plus size clothing that curvy women between sizes 14-24 would need. You can expect to find women clothing like part dresses, contemporary styled sweaters and jackets, shirt, leggings, scarfs and much more.

What I really loved about the brand is their ideology to help its customers embrace their body types confidently and it definitely wants to change the way our society and mainstream media perceive and define beauty.It is evident in their styles and I can say one thing about the brand without throwing shade on other plus size brands is at least they make for some beautiful cuts and silhouettes.On-trends pieces like a bodycon dress or an off-shoulder top are so difficult to find for a big girl like me. 

So I either fend off to shop on international websites or resort to the likes of Colaba, Hill road or Sarojini.The pain to find even one well-fitted dress that would allow me to show my curves is almost painful.I'm a big online shopper having said that I even chose to buy groceries when I live alone. So a website that gives me a one stop solution like CALAE is more than welcome.

The Year end Dawn for A Saree lover

Us girls I have an immemorial connect with our sarees.The wonder yard definitely gets the best of each woman varying maybe every 45 km's.I'm no expert form the saree glossary uproar in the country like never seen before but I definitely have had a change of mind, perception to the Indian handlooms all thanks to saree.The saree Pact made a huge difference to my learning.

We all love and know the versatility is something that makes the saree so so unique, how a single piece of cloth can be transformed into marvels in a jiffy seeking to suit no particular shape, size or gender really!

As the year comes to a close I couldn't have chosen a better outfit -a simple co-optex saree my father got one evening from his nonchalant outings really. Paired with my mum's beautiful ajrakh from Pracheen puts the outfit so uniformly, how two diverse craft forms make such a beautiful baby.

The hair is done by The Mad Hair Scientist, who has given me a side textured sleek fishtail braid bun tucked along some parrot latkans and fresh marigolds.I absolutely love the little bits of detail!

I also added a beautiful and much-cherished pair of pearl earrings from Calicut to complete the attire.Hoping you like the stark contrast of lilac hair, the mustard-red with a tinge of green.I absolutely love my sarees as much as I adore my minis.Here's to wishing everyone for an extraordinary and some resolute decisions ahead.I will see you soon in my next post.
